WHO IS YOUR PREFERRED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE AND WHY? SS post

I have been very pleased with your interest and passion in debating the issues and candidates in the race for the Presidency, so here is your opportunity to say all the things you don’t get a chance to say in class. You are required to make a minimum of two posts. One original post, and one post in response to someone else's post. Deadline for these two posts is Monday, May 5, 2008.

Who is your preferred Presidential candidate and why? Explain why you believe McCain, Obama, or Clinton would be the best choice for President. Focus on the issues that your candidate represents, such as their stand on health care, the war, immigration, education, social issues, etc… and stay away from “name calling” of the other candidates or your fellow classmates. You may point out the reasons you would not vote for the other candidates (based on their stand on issues), but back up your opinion with facts, not rumors. I encourage you to respond to, and/or disagree with your fellow classmates’ posts, but remember to be polite, clear, and respectful. Rude or disrespectful posts will be deleted, not posted. Remember that this is a public blog, so make the Hawks Team shine by showing how knowledgeable, passionate, and aware you are about current political issues.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Hawk's Reading Room internet blog site. This site will be used as an extension of the classroom for both English Language Arts and Social Studies. A “BLOG” is a shared on-line journal where members can read, write, post, or edit a shared journal on line. Please keep in mind that this is a public domain and can be read by not only fellow students, but other teachers, administrators, parents, and community members at large. For this reason, you should keep all postings "school appropriate" and put your best language arts skills forward; show off your best spelling and grammar skills and write in complete words and sentences. You will have at least one weekly required posting, but are free to post and respond to other posts as often as you like.
